Rugby and American Football are similar sports but have many differences. Although rugby is played with out armor or helmets foot ball is a lot more dangerous. This is simply because the armor that is worn in football makes men believe they are undefeatable. Since they have a helmet to protect their head they are more likely to run into their opponent head first. The analogy used in the article was thinking of the players head a missal. In rugby they are a lot more cautious about the way they tackle their opponents.

There are many side effects that can occur while playing Football. Many football players get concussion several times during their season. Researchers have been studying the brains of athletes. Most of them suffered from brain injuries that have extreme side effects. One of the long term effects were degenerative brain injury, called chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Many people have complained about football because it seems that people are ignoring the dangers of playing this high impact game.

Football is extremely dangerous but some would say Rugby is just as dangerous. People who play rugby also encounter many concussions as well, but the most dangerous part of rugby is not concussions; it is joining in a scrum. These scrums have caused many spinal injuries that have lead players to become paralyzed. People are worried about children playing these intense sports. This is because most children do not end up being signed to the professional leagues nor play collegiate sports. They believe that if these children do not make it far that they should not be damaging their bodies.

According to Brown and Keely the fallacy used in this article is appealing to emotions. Appealing to emotions is the use of emotionally charged language to distract readers and listeners from relevant reasons and evidence; common emotions appealed to are fear, hope, padronism, pity, and sympathy. The writer used this fallacy when she brought up parents should second guess whether or not to let their children participate in such a high impact sport. Although, most young adults and children who play these sports will never get very far, these games teach children other things that are very important. These sports keep children physically active instead of watching tv these children are learning how to work and communicate with others. The game also teaches disciplin and learning how to follow rules.
