After testing at several chipotle restaurants has shown no positive result for Escherichia coli O26. The company has taken several steps and will reopen its temporarily closed restaurants in Oregon and Washington's. They are improving the sanitation in their kitchen and testing the food before it is restocked. The company also claimed that incident poses no further risk and chipotle has taken safety steps such as deep cleaning, sanitizing, fresh produce, raw meat, cheese, and sour cream will be tested before restocking or reopening the closed restaurant. Will this bring back their costumers?
Although, Chipotle is doing everything in their power to fix the problem, this is a big deal e- coli can cause severe complications to human beings. The effects of this bacteria cause many different infections, severe anemia or kidney failure, which can lead to death. it can also cause urinary tract infections which can cause a lot of pain. The weird part is that you get an E. coli infection by coming into contact with the feces, or stool, of humans or animals, so how did this occur?

The company tested on food, surface, equipment but no positive effect have turned up. They can not seem to find the exact cause of the outbreak but continue to keep a close eye on how they handle their food and sanitation procedures. There were 42 patients sickened in the outbreak, 14 were hospitalized also a potentially fatal kidney complication have been reported. not only did this give their company a bad name but they also lost a lot of their costumers. Even though the out break occurred on the other side of the country many people on the east side have decided chipotle is still unsafe.

Chipotle is one of the most popular food chains in America and is well loved. However, it should not reopen their restaurants until they find where the E coli bacteria came from. Stocking with fresh raw meat and vegetables will only do so much. If they are doing something wrong or theirs some sort of leak causing the outbreak, they should get to the bottom of it before they risk getting more of their costumers sick. This will not only save their company from another potential outbreak but also keep the company from losing so much money on restocking several times per restaurant. As one of the patients reported to have a kidney complication. The mystery of E coli is still puzzle. I recommend people not to eat at its reopened restaurants or at any chipotle because they have tested over 900 restaurants’ there is no positive response. Chipotle should hold off on reopening in order to save their company from any law sues and potentially shutting down.
